Effective date: 8 August 2026 Applies to: the Sanviha Collections Android application (com.sanviha.shop)

Sanviha Collections (“we”, “us”) runs a saree and women’s apparel boutique. This policy explains what the Sanviha Collections app collects, why, and what choices you have. It describes the app as it is actually built today.

In short: the app has no customer accounts and never asks for your name, email address, phone number, location or payment details. It records anonymous app-usage events so we can see which pieces interest people, and enquiries are completed in WhatsApp, which is a separate service with its own privacy practices.

1. What we do not collect

The app does not ask for, and does not collect:

We show no advertising in the app and run no ad networks. The Firebase Analytics SDK may still access your device’s advertising identifier, which is explained in section 2.

The app requests access to your photo library only in the staff admin section, when a member of shop staff selects catalogue photographs to upload. Customers browsing the catalogue are never asked for photo access.

2. Information collected automatically

We use Firebase Analytics, a Google service, to understand how the catalogue is used. This is collected automatically as you browse; you are not asked to identify yourself.

App-usage events

The app records these events:

Event What it records
Product list viewed Which listing surface was opened (home, category, wishlist) and the category
Product viewed Which product was opened, its category and price
Product image viewed Which product photo was brought into view, and its position
Wishlist added / removed Which product was saved or unsaved
WhatsApp enquiry tapped Where the enquiry started (product screen, WhatsApp tab, or wishlist) and, for a product enquiry, the product and price
Catalogue sync completed How long a catalogue refresh took and how many products were returned
Catalogue sync failed A short failure category, such as network or permission_denied
Admin actions Product created, updated or archived, and upload failures — these occur only when shop staff use the admin section

These events carry product identifiers, category names and prices — information already displayed to you in the app. They do not carry product descriptions, image URLs, or anything identifying you personally.

The app does not currently have search or filtering, so no search terms are recorded.

Device and diagnostic information

Firebase Analytics automatically collects standard technical information alongside these events, including your device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and a country or region derived from your IP address. It also generates a random app-instance identifier for your installation. This identifier is not linked to your name or to any account, and it is reset if you reinstall the app or clear its data.

Advertising identifier and install attribution

The Firebase Analytics SDK included in the app declares the Android advertising ID permission (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) and may collect your device’s advertising identifier. It can also receive Google Play install referrer information describing how the app was installed.

We do not use this to show you advertisements — the app contains no ads and no ad network. It is collected by Google’s Analytics SDK under its default settings, and Google may use it as described in its own policies.

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, independently of this app.

3. Information stored only on your device

Your wishlist and your recently viewed products are stored locally on your phone using Android’s standard app-storage mechanism. They are not uploaded to us and are not synced between devices.

The product catalogue is also cached on your device so browsing works offline.

Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app removes all of this.

4. The product catalogue (Firestore and Storage)

Product information is delivered from Cloud Firestore and product photographs from Firebase Storage, both Google services. This flow is read-only for customers: the app fetches the catalogue and sends nothing about you back. Only authenticated shop staff can write to it.

Making these requests necessarily reveals your device’s IP address to Google, as with any internet request.

5. WhatsApp enquiries

Every enquiry button in the app opens WhatsApp, a separate application and service operated by WhatsApp/Meta. The app pre-fills a message identifying the product you were viewing (its name and product code) and hands it to WhatsApp. You choose whether to send it.

Once you send that message, you are communicating with our shop through WhatsApp, and:

If you never tap an enquiry button, we receive no contact details from you at all.

We record orders confirmed over WhatsApp in our own business records, as any shop does.

6. Authentication

The app has no customer sign-in. You browse the entire catalogue and use the wishlist without an account.

The app does include a staff-only admin section that uses Firebase Auth with an email and password. Those credentials belong to shop staff, not to customers.

7. Service providers and sharing

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Information is processed by:

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

8. Data retention

Analytics data is held by Google under the retention period configured for our Firebase project; we do not keep a separate copy of it. Data stored on your own device — the wishlist, recently viewed items and the catalogue cache — stays there until you clear the app’s data or uninstall it. WhatsApp conversations remain in our WhatsApp account and in your own until deleted.

9. Data security

The app communicates with Firebase using Google’s official SDKs over their standard secure connections, and access to the catalogue is restricted by Firebase security rules so that only authenticated staff can modify it. Access to our Firebase project and WhatsApp account is limited to shop staff.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s privacy

The app is intended for adults shopping for sarees and apparel. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through a WhatsApp enquiry, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Your choices

Because the app holds no account for you, we may be unable to identify analytics records as yours; requests about WhatsApp conversations and order records can always be honoured.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes — for example when iOS, Web, search or filtering ship. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version, and the revision history is visible in this repository.
